"The Drive"
I started this one a long time ago and never knew where to go with it...
I knew I was riding in your car, but it was as though I was witnessing it from
far, far away. I could feel the rush of the wind past my face as we raced along
the wildly curving road with the top down. I heard you talking into your cell
phone, though I comprehended only the occasional word here and there. Every now
and then I would smell the scent of your cigar as the wind whipped the smoke
past me. Mostly, however, I was alone inside my mind.
Just as you intended.
We made an interesting sight, I’m sure. You always turn heads, of course, but
the sight of you racing down the road in your convertible, dark sunglasses
covering your stunning eyes, smoking a cigar and chatting on your phone would
have drawn even more attention. Add to that the fact that you had a man in the
passenger seat, handcuffed, shackled, blindfolded and gagged and I’m sure you
were the center of attention along Highway 29.
Just as you intended.
Nothing phased you, not even when the cop pulled us over. You had no doubt of
your control as she approached your BMW to find out what was going on. You had
no worries as you explained, with a laugh, that I had been bad and this was my
punishment. You did not worry at all as you slipped the gag down around my
throat so I could tell the officer that all was exactly as you had said. You
knew I was under your perfect control. You knew that the scent of leather was
one of the many triggers you had placed within me over months of conditioning.
You knew that the scent of your driving glove, only inches from my nose as you
pulled the gag down, would be more than enough to keep the pleas for help that
were raging inside my mind from reaching my lips. You and the officer shared a
laugh. It was at my expense, I’m sure. Did I hear the officer telling you to
have fun? Perhaps. You had no more trouble with the police on that drive, though
an unusual number did seem to find a reason to patrol that particular stretch of
road after the officer returned to her car and drove away…
